Banbury Volunteer Bureau Transport

The scheme provides essential transport for those who are unable to access public transport or the help of friends and family in Banbury, Bicester and surrounding villages.

If you are attending medical appointments etc. we need to know the date and time of your appointment, the name of the hospital or surgery and, of course, your name, address and telephone number.

Please inform us if you use a wheelchair, or any other aid, or you have a disability and need additional help from the driver.

If you have booked return transport the driver will wait for you.  However, in some case, it may be necessary for two separate trips to be arranged if the waiting time is too long.

Drivers carry or wear an identity card.  DO ASK TO SEE THE CARD IF YOU ARE UNSURE.

When booking transport, please give us as much notice as possible, at least 3 working days, to give us time to contact volunteers and make the necessary arrangements.

Charges are as follows: local journeys up to 10 miles £5.00 and journeys over 10 miles at 47p per mile

To book transport call 01295 266090.
Office hours are 10.00 am to 12 noon Monday to Friday.
There is an answerphone service available at other times.

Want to Help?

We would welcome any assistance that you may be able to give our volunteer transport service, either as a driver or organiser.

If you live in Banbury, Bicester or surrounding villages and have a spare couple of hours a week or fortnight then please consider becoming one of our organisers. You would only need to undertake very basic admin tasks such as responding to phonecalls and answerphone messages in order to identify what journey a potential client needs, and then arranging this journey with one of our volunteer drivers. You do not even need to be computer literate as we only keep a manual record of actions.

Please contact us by phone of email ( if you are able to offer some support.
