Cherwell CVS

Cherwell Community and Voluntary Service Limited (incorporating Banbury Volunteer Bureau) operates a volunteer driver and furniture recycling service.  The volunteer driver scheme provides essential transport for those who are unable to access public transport or the help of friends and family in Banbury, Bicester and surrounding villages, whilst the Furniture Store recycles unwanted furniture and household items at low cost to people on low income or benefits.  All of our services are provided on a voluntary basis and no member of our organisation is paid.

Our mission is to support, promote and represent the best interests of the voluntary sector within the local community.  Our key theme is the need for a healthy and thriving community. We are a registered charity (no. 06727748) and are governed by a Board of Trustee Directors.

Our objectives are to:

  • recruit and place volunteers in our own recycle furniture store and volunteer driver scheme;
  • support cooperation and partnership between voluntary bodies, local authorities and statutory agencies;
  • promote the role of voluntary community groups to statutory bodies, in improving people's lives.
We are very pleased to announce that our Furniture Recycling Store has moved to new facilities at Unit 21c, Beaumont Close, Beaumont Road Industrial Estate, Banbury OX16 1TG.  Here you can view our wares in better surroundings, and our customer parking facilities are much improved.
